To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
Who among us wanted to curse Eve when our monthly cycles cause us grief? It is because of Eve’s sin that women go through the process of childbirth. Yet, our loving God did not leave us to suffer with nothing in return.
The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
The process of becoming a mother maybe laborious and painful, but it comes with a beautiful gift also. A father cannot know the intimate knowledge and love a mother has for her baby, long before he or she is born.
It doesn’t mean a mother loves her child more than a father, but she has an advantage of a tangible presence earlier in the process.
I love how Our Father in Heaven is such a merciful and loving judge.
I love the stories of Sarah, Leah, Hannah, Elizabeth and other women in the Bible whose deep desires of their hearts were heard by God.
I am so thankful to God for the honour and privilege of being a mom to such great kids. I wouldn’t trade my life for anything!
